Meet Shellye Archambeau! Shellye was the first Black female CEO of Silicon Valley. Her help in pushing the software company MetricStream forward garnered national recognition and earned her a place in the top 10 of the “Deloitte Technology Fast 50”. Shellye’s fame in the business world didn’t stop there; she was later named a global leader in GRC after leading firms for nine years.
She’s since used her immense knowledge to co-author “Marketing That Works: How Entrepreneurial Marketing Can Add Sustainable Profits to Any Sized Company” and to write Unapologetically Ambitious: Take Risks, Break Barriers, and Create Success on Your Own Terms, guiding young professionals to achieve success in the workplace.
In 2021, we honored her with a Star Award for breaking down barriers for women in business and for constantly using her voice to inspire others.
“I believe every girl deserves to be ambitious and go after their goals. When I was young I had low self-esteem and didn’t care very much about myself. Fortunately, I had strong parents and very impactful teachers that made me realize that I actually do have a future and I could do whatever I wanted as long as I was willing to be intentional, work hard, make the right choices, and take help from others.”
